Cinema in an aircraft hangar

What an evening – and what a brilliant start to our anniversary year! On 4 July, we hosted a special summer cinema screening at an extraordinary venue: “Top Gun: Maverick” in the aircraft hangar at Mannheim City Airport. There were plenty of thrills and adrenaline not only on the big screen, but also amongst the audience, who were swept away by the sequel to the 1980s cult film. Around 250 enthusiastic visitors were in attendance, along with representatives from politics and the wider community, including Mannheim’s Mayor Christian Specht and the Mayor for Culture, Thorsten Riehle.

The summer cinema special was organised to mark two special anniversaries. This year, we are celebrating 75 years of the IFFMH and the City Airport Mannheim its 100th anniversary. We would like to thank everyone who made this evening unforgettable and celebrated with us!
