Verlorene Klänge (Konzert)
01.11.2026 19:00
Lost Sounds (Concert)
Soprano Nathalie Seelig (NTM, Jewish Community of Mannheim), pianist Naoko Christ-Kato, and an ensemble from the Mannheim Philharmonic Orchestra present a varied program that bridges a tragic past with a hopeful future.
The concert will feature works by three Jewish women composers who were murdered in the Holocaust: Gertrud Schweizer (1894–1942) from Mannheim, Ruth Porita (1902–1942) from Karlsruhe, and Ilse Weber (1903–1944) from Theresienstadt. Some pieces have been newly arranged by Gerrit Bogdahn for this special occasion. In addition, a piece by a contemporary Jewish-Israeli composer, written specifically for this concert and inspired by these three murdered composers, will be performed. Music that has fallen silent and been forgotten will be heard once again, inspiring current and future generations of musicians.
