Girls Go Movie – Animated Film Production (Summer Camp, 7 Sept - 11 Sept)

Imagine making your own exciting animated film on the theme of “Imagine Futures!” As a group, you’ll experience what it’s like to bring your own visions of the future to life using shadow, light, and paper. Together, you’ll explore how the future can be imagined, filmed, and told. From developing ideas to writing the script and creating the storyboard, all the way to producing shadow figures and backgrounds—step by step. You’ll use tablets, lighting, and sound equipment, and learn the basics of animation, visual composition, music, language, storytelling, and much more. In the end, you’ll create your own silhouette animation film, which you’ll submit to the GIRLS GO MOVIE short film festival in November!

Mentors: Yasmin Dwiputri Hanschke and Laura Staab

As a group, you decide what your films will be about. We’ll help you bring your ideas to the screen in one week—and you’ll take on all the roles both in front of and behind the camera yourselves.
