Future Frames – A Conversation About the Future of Film (Panel Discussion)

“Future Frames” explores the future of moving images. The panel brings together fresh perspectives, theoretical reflection, and creative practice: International students from Heidelberg University will discuss questions of the future of film with Professor Daniel Winkler, a scholar of literature and film at Heidelberg University, film director Dennis Gansel, and screenwriter Dirk Ahner. They will explore questions such as: What role do artificial intelligence, streaming, new narrative forms, and changing viewing habits play in the cinema of tomorrow? In the age of digital revolutions, how can human creativity, classic and new cinematic narrative forms, and groundbreaking technological innovations be brought together? The panel invites attendees to share their visions and develop bold perspectives on the future of film. The evening will be accompanied by film music performed by Michael Neutsch on the piano.
