This year, for the first time, parents with babies (up to 11 months old) can enjoy our baby carriage cinema! Bring your little ones and enjoy our opening film, ›Inside Amir‹, in a comfortable atmosphere: with reduced volume, dimmed lights, and plenty of understanding for baby noises, breastfeeding, sleeping, or briefly leaving the theater. The film will be shown with German and English subtitles, so you can still follow the action even if things get a little restless. Strollers can be stored safely in an adjoining room. A diaper changing station is available! We look forward to welcoming you to our lounge right next to the cinema after the screening!

Like so many young people around the world today, Amir is planning to leave his homeland. We follow the young Iranian man in his daily life. In addition to scattered memories, we watch him on endless phone calls with his girlfriend, who is already waiting for him in Italy. We also see him meeting his colorful circle of friends and family, who are full of mutual love and warmth. These moments of togetherness are tinged with melancholy, for it could all be over soon. Amir himself is torn: leave or stay? He’s always riding his bicycle – symbolic of his longing for freedom. Among all the cars on the streets of Tehran, he moves like a foreign object. His departure draws ever closer.

Rich in subtle nuances, ›Inside Amir‹ is a remarkably quiet, heartfelt, and hopeful portrait of one of the great themes of the present day.
