Glenn Close in her most beautiful role – as a grandmother, mother, and founder of the girl scouts! Great emotions set against the backdrop of the Nordic Baltic Sea. Based on Tove Jansson’s bestseller.

An idyllic island in the middle of the Finnish Baltic Sea. Nine-year-old Sophia is spending the summer here with her father and grandmother. A tragic turn of fate has befallen the family. The father is overwhelmed by grief and withdrawn into himself. And so the troubled granddaughter and her strong-willed yet empathetic grandmother explore the island and its surroundings together. They talk about life, nature, and their love for one another. Gradually, emotional wounds begin to heal, and the three of them grow closer than ever.

A brilliant adaptation of Tove Jansson’s bestseller. So beautiful, it’ll bring tears to your eyes!
