A young man is released from prison and tries to lead an orderly life. An intense, precisely observed study – and one of the standout German films of the year!

A door opens… David is released from prison. From this moment on, he tries to live a lawful life in freedom. He moves into a state-supervised apartment, takes a job as a kitchen assistant, and attends the mandatory meetings with his probation officer. His girlfriend supports him, and friends initially provide some stability. But his situation remains fragile. Debts from the past, dubious acquaintances, and uncertainty about his place in the world weigh heavily on him. Then he loses his job.

An atmospherically dense drama about the struggle to break free from one’s own life.
