Russia’s war of aggression and its consequences for the people of Ukraine: nothing and no one can escape it. Urgently topical and cinematically impressive.

What is truly inhuman about war and its horrors is how it seeps into every aspect of life. A farewell among friends after a celebration, a commemoration of soldiers amidst the Christmas atmosphere at the train station, a seemingly idyllic landscape – and suddenly, a rocket streaks across the horizon. It is always there. Countless telling details, beyond the immediate acts of war, paint the picture of a country in a state of emergency. A state of emergency that, terrifyingly, becomes the new normal, shaping both the lives and the minds of the people.

Captured with an unerring eye and a deep sensitivity for atmospheric imagery.
