Living far from home was once a necessary sacrifice for the strong-willed Mila. When she unexpectedly returns after 15 years, nothing is as it used to be.

After 15 years away from her native Poland, Mila has settled quite well into her new life, complete with an affair with a colleague. She works as a housekeeper for a wealthy couple on the Israeli coast. After suffering a fall, however, she is forced to take a break and reluctantly returns home. Once there, she discovers that her husband and daughter also lead entirely different and independent lives of their own. Her old house is a wreck, while the new one is far from finished. As always, Mila takes matters into her own hands.

Or Sinai’s keenly observant gaze takes us deep into the lives of women who leave their home countries in search of a better future for themselves and their families. Acclaimed multilingual actress Evgenia Dodina shines in the role of the headstrong Mila.
