A film like a blue-green mirror of the soul, about a woman on the threshold of a new phase in life. Profound and beautiful.

The night is dark blue when Lena, a 40-year-old artist, leaves Bucharest to accept a commission far from the city. The hotel that she is meant to decorate with murals stands like a block in the middle of the forest. Lena is faced with many open questions. What direction should her life take? Newly separated and without children, she escapes into her work and the nature. At the hotel, she meets the attractive director and her assistant Roni, a refugee from Syria. Very gradually, the door to a new future seems to open up for Lena.

Sarra Tsoradikis approaches her characters in long, beautifully composed shots. With subtle nuances, the narrative weaves different realities of life into a multifaceted whole. A quietly touching film of great visual power that asks us, along with its main character, what really counts in life.

Director

Sarra Tsoradikis, born in 1988, studied directing at the National University of Theater and Film in Bucharest. She made short films and worked as an assistant director for the renowned filmmaker Radu Jude. ›Ink Wash‹ is her debut film.
