Tim Fehlbaum’s debut – an apocalyptic vision of the world after climate collapse – single-handedly redrew the boundaries of German genre cinema.
Marie, her younger sister Leonie, and her boyfriend Phillip fight their way through a scorched Germany. The dramatic climate change has ended life as they knew it. Any prolonged exposure of their skin to the sun is now a deadly threat. But it’s when Leonie is kidnapped by a group of strangers that Marie’s truly dangerous struggle begins.
This horror film thrust Lars Eidinger and Hannah Herzsprung – at the time, better known to audiences from Thomas Ostermeier’s legendary “Hamlet” production at the Berlin Schaubühne or Chris Kraus’s arthouse hit ›Four Minutes‹ – into a constantly surprising apocalyptic thriller.
Before the start of the film, we will present Tim Fehlbaum with this year's Grand IFFMH Award.
