Shot in Thailand, this visually stunning German production shows us nocturnal Bangkok as we’ve never seen it before: a ghostly, neon-lit fever dream.

Jen works in the city to support her family, who live in the countryside. She earns money by acting as a girlfriend-for-hire to tourists. When one of these dates turns violent, she is rescued by Wason, a bartender. But Wason himself lives in constant danger because of his gambling debts. These two lost souls drift through the city at night and slowly grow closer, maybe even fall in love. When Jen suddenly disappears, Wason sets out with Jen’s friend Pim to find her. They comb the metropolis together and end up travelling to the Cambodian border. But has Jen even left Bangkok?

A beautiful, romantic and dark ballad of the nocturnal city – populated by ghosts and permeated by a burning longing for a different, better life.
