Two queer people in search of a place for themselves in a world that despises them. A touching film, by the first openly gay Arab author, that regards community as the true meaning of life.

Jafaar, a gay man, and his lesbian friend Soundouss arrive in the Moroccan town of Cabo Negro full of hope. They are looking forward to a carefree summer in the luxurious holiday home owned by Jafaar’s lover Jonathan. To the outside world, they have to pretend to be his employees. Jonathan doesn’t show up, but they still want to stay. The manager of the villa, though, increasingly starts breathing down their necks. He threatens to throw Jafaar and Soundouss out of the house. When eventually they run out of money to eat, they can only think of one way to get by. Even in this precarious situation, Jafaar and Soundouss do not forget that there are people who need their help and support. ›Cabo Negro‹ tells this story in splendidly clear images, with a wonderfully tender matter-of-factness. As impressive as it is touching.
