Tough and uncompromising, as well as multi-layered and visually stunning: this gripping debut by British director Christopher Andrews probes the origins of violence.

When a ramshackle bridge collapses, it shatters the peace between two neighboring farming families in Ireland, causing conflicts that have been simmering for decades to burst through the surface. Michael (Christopher Abbott, ›Poor Things‹) has been traumatized ever since a tragic car accident. His girlfriend at the time, Caroline, who still bears scars from the event, has married into the hated family next door. When, like a ghost from the past, Michael turns up on the farm with her son Jack (Barry Keoghan, ›Saltburn), she expects the worst. Overwhelmed by anger and despair, Michael and Jack slip into a spiral of violence and towards a perilous duel.

This gripping family story of blood, dirt, and soil, set in the stunningly photographed landscape of County Wicklow on the east coast of Ireland, doesn’t allow the viewer a moment of rest.
