›Harold and Maude‹ in the 21st century! A completely unexpected connection gives two people a new lease on life. Adorably funny and warm-hearted.

After the death of his wife, cantor Ben (Jason Schwartzman) moves back in with his two mothers. He has lost his singing voice and doubts his faith. He is therefore afraid of disappointing his boss, Rabbi Bruce. Then he meets his seventy-year-old primary school teacher Carla (Carol Kane). She spontaneously decides to have her bat mitzvah as an adult and enlists Ben’s help. It is the beginning of a very unusual relationship. However, there is Carla’s son, who is suspicious of his mother’s sudden religiousness and her new acquaintance. What’s more, Rabbi Bruce is only too keen to set his protégé Ben up with his own daughter. It’s going to get messy!
