In 2013, The Nest began documenting stories of queer life in their home country. They collected individual experiences of encounters and loss, oppression and liberation experienced by queer people in a strictly two-gender society. The result is a series of harrowing cinematic narratives that The Nest has arranged into an evening-length feature film. We will show ›The Stories of Our Lives‹ (2014) as a one-time screening. The artists have also produced a book on the subject of the film, which you can view and purchase in the  Festival-Lounge Heidelberg.

Jim Chuchu is an artist and musician living and working in Nairobi. Today, he's the co-founder at RADA, where he is co-producing Fight for Food. He's also a TED Fellow and 1/4 of alt-electropop outfit Just a Band. Previously, he's co-founded The Nest Collective and HEVA, directed films such as the queer anthology feature Stories of Our Lives, and contributed to the International Inventories Programme.
