The utopia of a completely free, intoxicating life in vibrant Berlin – until the bubble threatens to burst violently.

Zohar and Shira, two young Israelis, live in Berlin. One date night changes both their lives: while Shira has a disturbing evening, Zohar meets an insecure young poet. With the poet, she dances and loves her way through a Berlin of seemingly limitless possibilities. But not only their relationship is suddenly shaken. Cracks are increasingly appearing in the friendship between the two women as well.

Hadas Ben Aroya is the Israeli filmmaker of the moment. Her work focuses on Gen Z, its identity and sexuality. ›I Can’t Say No to Myself‹ is a vital, pulsating portrait of young Israelis finding a new refuge away from home.
